Experiencing school practically (hand), cognitively (mind) and emotionally (heart).

We are a Catholic private school based on Christian values:

„The young people entrusted to our care are seen as unique individuals loved by God“

Consequently, we aim for

  • establishing an atmosphere of mutual trust.
  • fostering individual skills and strengths.
  • individually helping students to achieve learning goals.
  • differentiating between the dignity of each individual person and her or his performances in school.

„The atmosphere of this school is characterised by the cooperation of students, parents, teachers and monks.“

The way we teach and educate our students is based on a specific theory of pedagogy, the Marchtaler Plan. One main objective of the Marchtaler Plan is to give students the opportunity to acquire subject-specific, social as well as personal competences.

"Students are able to develop their personalities in an atmosphere determined by a strong sense of community and are actively involved in all learning processes."

We are an all-day school, in which students are in good hands from 07.45 am to 17.00 pm.

It is very important for us that our students feel comfortable and supported.

„The Abteigymnasium Seckau is a grammar school that aims for helping students gain a broad general knowledge“.

We challenge students to achieve their full cognitive, social and personal potentials by teaching holistically.

We offer varied extracurricular activities to nurture confident and independent young people“.

In addition to the Reifeprüfung, students can develop practical skills in our Lehrwerkstätten and work as apprentices in either our carpentry, goldsmiths or photo laboratory. After the Reifeprüfung they can take the final apprenticeship examination.
